Order of Christopher Anvil Books
Christopher Anvil is the pen name of American author Harry Christopher Crosby (1925-2009), best known for his science fiction short stories. His stories often appeared in Astounding Magazine due to the fact that he could write a plot that was a favourite of editor John W. Campbell – aliens who had superior firepower being defeated due to superior intelligence and ingenuity of humans.
Harry Christopher Crosby first got published in the December 1952 issue of Imagination with the short story Pandora’s Planet (later expanded into a novel). He would start using the pen name Christopher Anvil in 1956, when he first started getting published in Astounding Magazine. His first novel was The Day the Machines Stopped, published in 1964.
