Diary of a Teenage Girl by Melody Carlson
Diary of a Teenage Girl is a series of YA Christian fiction by American author Melody Carlson. The series consists of different four series, featuring Caitlin, Chloe, Kim and Maya. Caitlin’s series is about her struggle with friendship, family turmoil and not having a boyfriend in high school. Chloe is part of an all-girl Christian rock group who gets involved with an older boy from another band who has a girlfriend back home. Kim is an adopted girl who has to deal with her mother’s death, her friend’s pregnancy and meeting her birthmother. Maya’s father is famous, but her parents divorced and she began to struggle with her racial identity. After her mother went got into trouble, Maya went to spend the summer with relatives, including Kim.

Melody Carlson began her Diary of a Teenage Girl series with the Caitlin series, which started in 2000 with Becoming Me. The final novel in the series was What Matters Most, featuring Maya, in 2009.
