Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired the rights in the United States, Canada and other international territories to the Agatha Christie novel Crooked House.

Neil LaBute is already on board as director, as he co-wrote the screenplay with Julian Fellowes and Tim Rose Price. Joe Abrams and Rory Gilmartin (Brilliant Films) along with Marc Samuelson (Samuelson Productions) will serve as producers.

The producers note that Agatha’s popularity is still strong with the older crowd. “Her books have sold more than a billion copies in English and another billion in a hundred foreign languages,” noted Abrams.
