Anne Rice is no stranger to stirring up excitement (and sometimes controversy) on her Facebook and she was able to do just that on Thursday with a post alluding to her popular character Lestat de Lioncourt, of The Vampire Chronicles.

“Flowers for Lestat. Help me: what flowers have you observed, or know, or have planted that bloom after dark the same as in the day? Geraniums on my balcony here in Geneva bloom at night. What else? I need to know what flowers Lestat can enjoy. (Don’t ask me why I need to know; I just need to know.)”

Cryptic, indeed. She made another one, that read:

“This continues to be a marvelous experience. My characters are enjoying it with me, clamoring for new life in new books.”

We’ll let you draw your own conclusions.
