The final novel of Maeve Binchy has made her the highest earning Irish author of 2013.

A Week in Winter sold 36,582 copies and earned €525,925.65 between September and the end of the year. Binchy’s books sold a total of 40,000,000 copies in 37 different languages over the course of her lifetime.

However, the highest gossing author overall in Ireland was the Fifty Shades series by British author E.L. James. The novels sold a total of €2,805,347.23.
