Chloe Moretz has been chosen to star as the title role in Carrie, the remake of a movie based on the Stephen King novel. The role was originally made famous by Sissy Spacek back in 1976.

Chloe had this to say about being offered the role on Twitter, “Thank you Kim Pierce and thank u MGM for the chance of a lifetime!” Other actresses being considered for the part were Dakota Fanning and Haley Bennett.

The new Carrie film will be directed by Kimberly Pierce and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. It will start filming later this year.
