RLJ has signed to purchased video distribution companies Image Entertainment and Acorn Media Group to create the LA-based RLJ Entertainment. The company will trade on Nasdaq.

Just last month, the Acorn Media Group purchased a 64% share in Agatha Christie’s literary estate. They now own 40 made-for-TV movies, 19 plays and over 80 novels. They also own many other British dramas.

Image Entertainment owns 3,700 titles in comedy, horror and urban genres. Its titles are found on Netflix, Hulu and iTunes.

Amazing how fast some of these properties change hands! One month a company buys up the Agatha Christie estate and the next thing you know, they’re bought up by someone else!
