It appears that those who are waiting for the sequel to famous Stephen King novel The Shining will have to wait even longer for the long-awaited sequel.

Doctor Sleep was slated for a January 2013 release, but unfortunately the novel is not ready for publication. The full quote reads: “Steve needs more time for editing as he doesn’t feel it’s anywhere near ready for publication,” said King’s message board moderator. “He has a number of projects he’s working on so would not be able to accomplish that within the deadline they would need in order to get it ready for production for a January release.”

King fans will also have Joyland to look forward to, which will be hitting shelves in June 2013.
