Cross Creek Pictures is now set to produce and finance Todd Field’s film adaptation of The Creed of Violence, based on the novel by Boston Teran.

The novel is set during the Mexican Revolution in 1910, as seen through the eyes of an assassin named Rawbone and a bureau agent named John Lourdes. They’re forced to work together to infiltrate an arms smuggling ring.

At one point last year, Leonardo DiCaprio was attached to the project. However, the press release had no mention of him, which leads one to presume he has backed out of the project.
