BBC One and Company Pictures will be producing a new 10-hour drama of called “The White Queen,” which is an adaptation of the Philippa Gregory historical series The Cousins’ War

Three women (portrayed by actresses Rebecca Ferguson, Amanda Hale and Faye Marsay) are in a conflict for the throne in 15th century England between the House of York and the House of Lancaster.

“One of the most ambitious series the BBC has made, this ten-part series is an epic drama that makes real history as gripping as the best fiction, featuring a cast of extraordinary new talent and some of our finest actors,” says Ben Stephenson, controller of BBC Drama.

The series will be filmed in Bruges.
