Descendants of J.R.R. Tolkien and Charles Dickens are set to team up for two children’s fantasy books.

Michael G.R. Tolkien, grandson of J.R.R. Tolkien has signed a two-book deal with Thames River Press. The first book will be entitled Wish (based on The Rose-Coloured Wish by Florence Bone). In it, two children will set out to use an evil enchanter’s wishing chain of stones to save their alpine valley, only to fall into trouble.

Gerald Dickens, a British character actor, will be narrating the audibook version. Dickens is the great-great grandson of Charles Dickens.

The second book will be called Rainbow and it will be based on another fantasy novel by Florence Bone, entitled The Other Side of the Rainbow. Both books will be hitting shelves later this year.
