As we expected, a deal has been made with E.L. James and her Fifty Shades of Grey series. Universal Pictures and Focus Features have acquired the rights to adapt the series. Considering rumours have it that Sony bid $5 million and didn’t get the rights, we can only imagine what this eBook series sold for.

Obvious comparisons are being made to The Twilight Saga, but last we checked, neither Jacob nor Edward were into bondage and S&M. Now the main questions are how they intend on adapting this “mommy porn” to the big screen and who will play the characters. We’ll update you as soon as we find out more.
