Reader Mailbag: Audio Books
We have considered opening a new website dedicated to audio books. Based on that we wanted to get responses, thoughts and opinions from our visitors on audio books – particularly what they like about them, their reasoning for listening etc.
This was in the April 2016 Newsletter we asked this (subscribe to the right). Here is the awesome feedback we received:
Order of Jordan Jacobs Books
Jordan Jacobs is an American author of children’s mystery and adventure novels. He writes the Samantha Sutton series. For as long as he can remember, Jordan has loved both archaeology and writing. Being interested in mummies, castles and Indiana Jones as a kid led to him participating in an excavation when he was 13 years old in the Sierra Nevada. Jordan would then complete an archaeology program in high school, following his passion to Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge. In total, his research has taken him to nearly 50 different countries. Aside from being an author, Jordan is Head of Cultural Policy at the Phoebe Hearst Museum of Anthropology at UC Berkeley. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter. (more…)

Order of Tara Sue Me Books
Tara Sue Me is an American author of erotica novels. She writes the Submissive series. Tara wrote her first novel at age 12, but it would be another two decades before she would try again. After trying to write regular, clean romance novels, she got the idea to try something spicier. This would become The Submissive. What began as a writing exercise quickly took on a life of its own. An avid reader of all types of fiction, she soon discovered she enjoyed writing a variety as well. Tara lives in the Southeastern United States with her family, two dogs, and a cat. (more…)
Order of Hy Conrad Books
Hy Conrad is an author of mystery novels and non-fiction books. He was a writer on the TV series Monk for all eight seasons, getting co-executive producer credit for the final two and three Edgar nominations for Best TV Series. Conrad would later take over the Monk book series in 2013. In addition to his Monk-related work, he has also written hundreds of short stories, as well as a play titled Home Exchanged that premiered in Key West in 2012. Hy divides his time between Key West, Vermont and New York City. (more…)
Order of Belinda Bauer Books
Belinda Bauer is a British author of mystery and suspense novels. She writes the Jonas Holly/Exmoor Trilogy series. Belinda grew up in England and South Africa. She has worked as a journalist and a screenwriter. Belinda’s screenplay The Locker Room was awarded the Carl Foreman/BAFTA Award for Young British Screenwriters, which was presented to her by Sidney Poitier. Her short story Mysterious Ways about a girl stranded on a deserted island with thirty-thousand Bibles was runner-up in the Rhys Davies Short Story Competition. Belinda lives in Wales. (more…)

Jeff Crook is an American author of fantasy and mystery novels. He writes the Jackie Lyons mystery series. Jeff began his career contributing to fantasy series such as Dragonlance, AD&D and Forgotten Realms. When he isn’t writing, working, gardening or feeding the cat, Jeff may choose to socialize occasionally. He likes to eat and drink wine. Jeff and his wife Jessica live in Jeff’s family home, which may also be inhabited by some of Jeff’s ancestors. (more…)

Order of Tara Taylor Quinn Books
Tara Taylor Quinn is an American author of contemporary romance and psychological suspense novels. She writes the Shelter Valley Stories and Where Secrets Are Safe series. Tara was born and raised in Ohio, and wrote her first story when she was seven years old. Tara first became a fan of Harlequin when she was 14 years old and was able to grab a free copy of a Harlequin Romance at her local grocery store. She was later suspended for hiding a Harlequin novel behind her typewriter, thereby solidifying her relationship with the popular brand. Tara began her writing career when she was hired as a stringer with the Dayton Daily News. She attended Wright State University and graduated from Harding College in Arkansas with a degree in English and Journalism. She published several magazine articles before making writing her full-time job. (more…)
