We recently posted about the possible redevelopment of Arthur Conan Doyle’s former home, Undershaw. Well, it turns out that the high court has determined that the house will not be up for redevelopment. The plan was to convert the house into eight separate houses.

Fans of the Sherlock Holmes franchise may have their love for Sherlock Holmes in common, but with a movie, a BBC television series and soon a CBS television series out, there is much to debate about which Sherlock is the best one.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was a Scottish author best known for his Sherlock Holmes stories (a landmark of detective fiction). However, he is also wrote The Lost World, non-fiction historical books, romance, science fiction, plays and more. Much like the assistant and biographer of Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, Conan Doyle was a physician.

Sherlock Holmes is a legendary fictional character created by Scottish author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is well-known for solving even the most impossible mysteries and is a master of disguise. Some of Holmes’ characteristics include having cat-like personal hygiene, use of cocaine and smokes a pipe.
