The First North Americans is a series of historical fiction novels by American authors W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O’Neal Gear. The series deals with the various civilizations and cultures that existed in prehistoric North America. The series starts out with the initial migration of the peoples who would become known as Native American.

Kathleen O’Neal Gear is an American author of historical fiction as well as a former state historian and archaeologist. Kathleen is best known for co-authoring the First North Americans series with husband W. Michael Gear, who she has co-authored many of her novels with.
