Michael Malone (1942-2022) was an American author as well as a television writer. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1964, and his master’s degree in 1966 (also from UNC-Chapel Hill). Aside from his novels, Michael wrote for the soap opera One Life to Live from 1991 to 1996 and from 2003 to 2004. Michael was married to his wife, Maureen, for 47 years. They had one daughter, Maggie. Michael passed away on August 19th, 2002 after suffering from pancreatic cancer. (more…)

Order of Gabriel García Márquez Books


Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014) was a Colombian author and journalist. He earned the Neustadt International Prize for Literature in 1972 and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. His writing is considered part of the Latin American Boom and the magic realism movements. In his fiction, Márquez would leave out key elements in order to allow the reader the chance to participate in the story’s development. Carlos Fuentes referred to Márquez as “the most popular and perhaps the best writer in Spanish since Cervantes.” When he died, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said he was “the greatest Colombian who ever lived.” (more…)
