The Crime Writers of Canada unveiled its nominees for their 2012 Arthur Ellis Awards, celebrating the best in Canadian crime fiction. Among the novelists announced are Louise Penny and William Deverell.

Deverell got the nod for I’ll See You in My Dreams, his fifth Arthur Beauchamp novel. Louise Penny’s nomination was for A Trick of the Light, featuring Inspector Armand Gamache. The other nominations went to I Am Half-Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley, Before the Poison by Peter Robinson and The Guilty Plea by Robert Rotenberg.

The full list of nominations is available here. The winners will be announced during a Toronto gala on May 31st.
