To show his gratitude, James Patterson is donating 200,000 of his books to the US Army. With help from charitable organizations such as Operation Gratitude and Books for Heroes, he is sending 20,000 cartons with 10 books each in them to soldiers worldwide.

Among the books being donated to the military include Tick Tock, The Postcard Killers and others.

“The gratitude you get is unbelievable,” Patterson said. “You get it from soldiers. You get it from families of soldiers. They’ll tell you that their son or daughter is reading my work. That’s really cool. That’s very touching.”
