Macmillan’s Tor/Forge sci-fi/fantasy imprint is going to start selling its eBooks DRM-free starting early July of this year. They currently publish titles like Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.

“Our authors and readers have been asking for this for a long time,” said Tor/Forge president and publisher Tom Doherty. “They’re a technically sophisticated bunch, and DRM is a constant annoyance to them. It prevents them from using legitimately-purchased eBooks in perfectly legal ways, like moving them from one kind of eReader to another.”

The DRM-free titles will be available from the retailers who already are selling their books, plus they intend on selling through retailers who are exclusively DRM-free.

Please note that this only applies to the Tor/Forge imprint and not the Macmillan publishing group as a whole.
