Cate Tiernan is the pen name of American author Gabrielle Charbonnet, who writes YA fantasy novels under this pen name. She writes the Balefire series, Immortal Beloved trilogy, and the Sweep series. Cate earned a degree in Russian from Loyola University, and then began a career working at Random House.
