C.D. Reiss is an American romance novelist best known for writing The Edge series and the Songs of Submission series.
Reiss grew up in New York City, but went west for college. She attended the University of Southern California where she earned her master’s degree in screenwriting. That career didn’t work out for her, but it gave her a strong basis in storytelling which she then applied to her book writing career. She has been called the “Shakespeare of Smut” which is a nickname she takes pride in, but not enough to tell her husband about it.

Rough Edge is the first book in the Edge series of books. The book follows a married couple named Caden and Greyson. They are both former soldiers who have come home from deployment to build a life together. Things are going well until Caden starts to change as he develops a savage edge. It is sexy, but it is also dangerous and Greyson starts to wonder about what happened to the man she married. As Greyson investigates what exactly is going on with her husband, she can’t help but fall for the man that he has become in the bedroom. She wants to destroy the dark edged man that’s becoming, but that’s easier said than done.
The Songs of Submission series is some of Reiss’ best work and the series starts with Beg. The book tells the story of a woman named Monica with big dreams of becoming a singer in Los Angeles. She’s stopped dating altogether until she gets her career on track. She’s focused until Jonathan comes into the picture. He owns the hotel that she works at and is equal parts gorgeous and charming. Monica so desperately wants to submit to him, but she also wants a career.
