Trade Wind is a standalone title by M.M. Kaye. Set against the lush, volatile backdrop of Zanzibar a century ago – the “Isle of Cloves” and the last great stronghold of the slave trade – comes a sweeping tale of courage, conviction, and forbidden passion.

Hero Hollis, the spirited and idealistic niece of the American consul, is fiercely opposed to the inhumanity she witnesses daily. When a revolt erupts on the island, threatening the fragile balance of power, Hero finds herself at the heart of the uprising.
