
Poul Anderson (1926-2001) was an American author of science fiction as well as fantasy and historical fiction. He started writing during a Golden Age of the sci-fi. With a degree in physics, Poul’s science fiction was always grounded in science. His characters were well-developed, thoughtful and larger-than-life. Poul is the father-in-law of fellow sci-fi author Greg Bear.
Poul Anderson became a published novelist in 1952 with the novel Vault of the Ages. Over the course of his career, he would win the Hugo Award seven times, the Nebula Award three times, the Prometheus Award four times and also receive the Gandalf and SFWA Grand Master awards.
