After writing all seven Harry Potter adaptations, Steve Kloves is now going to be putting down the pen in favour of sitting in the director’s chair. The word is that the Harry Potter screenwriter will be directing the new live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book.

Rudyard Kipling’s classic will once again see the big screen. The last time, it was a Disney movie starring Jason Scott Lee, Cary Elwes, Lena Headey, Sam Neill and John Cleese. This time, as it will be produced by Warner Bros., we can expect something perhaps a bit more edgy.

Kloves has not directed a film since 1993, when he directed Flesh and Bone.
