Every year, the Daughters of the British Empire have tea with Jane Austen. Or at least they have tea to celebrate Jane Austen.

The afternoon tea, with a Jane Austen theme, was held at the Longue Vue House and Gardens. Proper British tea was served in period clothing.

For those unaware, Jane Austen was an English novelist of romantic fiction and is one of the most read writers in the English language.

Even though she died in 1817, she still has millions of fans to this day. Her six novels have been adapted into movies, spin-offs and other re-tellings.
