The sequel to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and second movie in the Millennium series, The Girl Who Played With Fire, doesn’t look to be hitting screens for quite a while. The idea was for it to be released in late 2013, but screenwriter Steven Zaillian is still writing the screenplay.

Constantin Film looks to be partnering with Sony Pictures for the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s young adult fantasy novel Mortal Instruments. The film will be directed by Harald Zwart, who directed Karate Kid.

During his lifetime, he edited periodicals and wrote some non-fiction books in Swedish. He spent his life researching right-wing extremism. Larsson himself was a communist.
