Rachel Harrison Synopses: Execution by Rachel Harrison is a 38-page short story in the Severina Raine Warhammer 40,000 subseries. The traitor fortress of Mone is under siege, and the Astra Militarum of the 11th Antari Rifles are running out of time. Pinned down by overwhelming firepower and cut off from support, the regiment searches for any chance to break the stalemate and claim victory for the Imperium.
When their captain refuses a direct order to advance, the responsibility falls to Commissar Severina Raine. Known for her resolve and her unshakable loyalty, Raine must rally the Antari forces and lead them into a mission that may cost them everything. The rebels hold the advantage. The battlefield is unforgiving. And failure is not an option.
To bring the Emperor’s justice to Mone, Raine must push her soldiers forward, confront the truth behind the captain’s defiance, and face the brutal reality of war on the front lines. The siege will break one way or another, and Raine intends to ensure it breaks in the Imperium’s favor.
A Company of Shadows is another short story in the Severina Raine series by Rachel Harrison. The Astra Militarum are in retreat. Driven back by the fanatical cultists of the Sighted, the 11th Antari Rifles are forced to regroup and carry out a critical assignment: escort a high‑ranking Tacticae officer to safety before the enemy can overrun the sector.
The mission collapses when their Valkyrie is shot from the sky. Commissar Severina Raine and her surviving Antari find themselves stranded deep within hostile territory, cut off from command and surrounded by enemies who know the terrain far better than they do.
With the Sighted closing in, Raine must rally her scattered soldiers, protect the officer whose knowledge could turn the tide of the war, and carve a path through a landscape crawling with heretics. Survival becomes the new objective, but even that will demand every ounce of discipline, resolve, and ruthlessness she possesses.
In Blood Rites by Rachel Harrison, the Word Bearers have descended upon the shrine world of Luminata, intent on corrupting its sacred halls and drowning its people in heresy. Standing between the traitors and their prize are the Blood Angels, noble sons of Sanguinius who have sworn to defend the Imperium’s holy worlds at any cost.
But Luminata is a battlefield that tests more than flesh and steel. Surrounded by enemies and haunted by the Black Rage that claws at their minds, the Blood Angels fight a war on two fronts. Every engagement threatens to push them closer to the edge, and every victory demands a price paid in blood.
As the Word Bearers tighten their grip and the corruption spreads, the Blood Angels must hold the line with dwindling numbers and fading strength. The fate of the shrine world hangs on their ability to resist both the traitors before them and the darkness within.
Can the sons of Sanguinius prevail, or will Luminata fall to the whispers of Chaos?
