SenLinYu Reviews: Before picking up Alchemised, I’d been on a streak of fast, addictive reads that kept me awake into the night. This one felt completely different at first — much darker, full of death (especially early on), zombie‑like figures, and the bleakness of war. I didn’t connect with it right away, but the buzz around it convinced me to keep going. Around the 15% mark, something shifted, and suddenly it was a page‑turner – and with a thousand pages ahead of me, that meant a lot of turning.
At its core, it’s an epic romance, truly epic, set against the backdrop of a long and brutal war. What stood out most was how deeply the author digs into the characters’ emotional lives. It isn’t just a simple “villain versus hero” setup; there’s history, politics, and layers of motivation behind everything.
