Order of Edgar Allan Poe Books
Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) was an American author and poet. He is best known for his mystery and horror tales and poems, as well as helping to create the genre of detective fiction as well as science fiction. Poe’s work was very macabre and often explored death, such as what happens to a body when it decomposes, being buried alive and reanimating the deceased. Poe himself died when he was only 40 years old; the cause of his death is unknown.
Edgar Allan Poe’s first published work was a poetry collection entitled Tamerlane and Other Poems (written as “A Bostonian”). It was published in July 1827. He only ever finished one novel, which was entitled The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket and was published in two installments in early 1837. Notes: The Journal of Julius Rodman is an incomplete novel. Tamerlane and Other Poems was originally written as “A Bostonian.” The play Politian was never completed. The Conchologist’s First Book was ghostwritten by Edgar Allan Poe; he did not actually write the book.
