Erika Chase is the author of the popular Ashton Corners Book Club Mystery series. Chase was nominated for the Agatha Award for A Killer Read in the Best First Novel category.

In her parallel life, Erika Chase goes by Linda Wiken as the name of Erika Chase is what she uses to write books. In her real life, she is a former bookstore owner. In addition to her Agatha Award nomination, Chase has also been short-listed for an Arthur Ellis Award, Best Short Story, from Crime Writers of Canada. She is a member of The Ladies’ Killing Circle writers group.

A Killer Read is the first book in the Ashton Corners Book Club series. The book follows the Ashton Corners Mystery Readers and Cheese Straws Society, a group of six friends who are gathered in Molly Matthew’s old Southern mansion to talk about mysteries. However, that barely gets underway when the book club meeting becomes the scene of a crime when a stranger is murdered. Nobody knows who the victim is or why they used Molly’s antique gun to commit the crime, but they are determined to find out. Lizzie is the reading specialist of the group and she starts receiving mysterious manuscripts in her mailbox that ultimately point to her as the next victim.

Another great book in the series is Book Fair and Foul. This book sees Molly Matthews opening up her own bookstore and preparing for the first annual Mystery Book Fair. One of the people on the guest list is Ashley Dixon, a book publicist with a history with Lizzie. When Ashley turns up dead, Lizzie becomes the top suspect and will once again team with her fellow reading buffs to try and suss out who really did it.
