If You Like Pam Jenoff Books, You’ll Love…
The Kommandant’s Girl was Jenoff’s groundbreaking debut novel and one of her most popular books. The book follows nineteen-year-old Emma Bau who just got married three weeks ago but there is already trouble when Nazi tanks come thunder into town. Her husband disappears and she is living in the ghetto until she is smuggled out by the resistance. She takes on a new name and a new life, as a high ranking Kommandant’s assistant, and uses her position to fight for the cause – even as it compromises her safety and marriage vows.
Another great book by Jenoff is The Lost Girls of Paris. This book centers on three women and a ring of female secret agents during World War II. A woman named Grace finds an unaccompanied suitcase in Grand Central Terminal and can’t help herself but to look. What she finds is photographs of different women, each a secret agent deployed out of London during the war. Grace becomes obsessed with the photos and seeks to find out the true stories behind these remarkable women in the photographs.
