Roshani Chokshi is an American author of children and young adult novels. She is best known for writing the Pandava Quintet series, the Gilded Wolves series, and the Star Touched Queen series.
Roshani’s parents were both immigrants to the United States. Her father is of Indian descent and her mother is Filipino. She attended law school at the University of Georgia and sold her first novel while she still was still in school. Her success from that first novel ultimately lead to her leaving school to focus on her writing career. The movie rights to Aru Shah and the End of Time were acquired by Paramount Pictures after a bidding war.
Aru Shah and the End of Time is the story of a young girl who often stretches the truth about her life in order to fit in at school. Her classmates are going o n family vacations while she spends her break at home in the Museum of Ancient Indian Art and Culture. One day three of her classmates come to her home to try and catch her in a lie. There is a Lamp in the museum that Aru tells them is cursed and they dare her to prove it. She does it, but lighting that lamp has dire consequences. The lamp unleashes the Sleeper which leaves her classmates and mother frozen in time. Now, it’s up to Aru to save them.
Once More Upon a Time is a romantic fairytale about a prince named Ambrose and a princess named Imelda. The two are in love, but Ambrose ends up sacrificing his love for her to save her. Now, a year and a day later, the witch who cursed them reappears to send them on a quest.
