S.J.A. Turney Synopses: Daughter of War is the first book in the Knights Templar series. Europe burns as the Reconquista tears through Aragon and Castile. The Moors press their advantage, Christendom is fractured, and loyalties are bought with blood.
When his lord is murdered through treachery, young knight Arnau of Valbona swears an oath to protect his master’s daughter. But keeping her safe will thrust him into a brutal world of Templars, merciless knights, and savage battles.
As the girl discovers an unexpected destiny among the warrior orders—becoming a true daughter of war—Arnau must confront enemies without and doubts within. To protect her, he must carve out his own path.
Can she survive the crucible of conflict? And will Arnau find his destiny on the blood-soaked fields of the Reconquista?
The Iron Gates by S.J.A. Turney is the first book in the Rider of Rome series. The year is AD 101. Eleven years after Domitian’s ill-fated campaign, Rome turns its gaze once more to Dacia. A new emperor, Trajan, now sits upon the throne—disciplined, relentless, and determined to succeed where his predecessor failed: nothing less than the complete conquest of King Decebalus and his mountain stronghold.
For Tiberius Claudius Maximus, a young rider in the auxilia, the call to arms means more than another campaign. Fate draws him back to Tapae, the battlefield where Rome’s might was once humbled—and where his own past still haunts him.
As the legions march through fire and blood toward the Iron Gates, Maximus must face not only the Dacian enemy but the ghosts that stalk his soul. Victory will demand sacrifice. And in the shadow of war, destiny awaits.
Interregnum is book 1 in the Tales of the Empire series from author S.J.A. Turney. For twenty years, civil war has ripped the Empire apart. The Imperial line is thought to be extinct, the mad Emperor Quintus burned alive in his own palace—betrayed by the very general who once swore to defend him.
Now, in an age of ruin and bloodshed, the proud Imperial legions have become little more than mercenaries, selling their swords to the highest bidder. Among them is Kiva, the infamous traitor-general turned battle-weary captain, a man haunted by his sins and broken by his past.
On a hopeless battlefield, Kiva stumbles upon a desperate young man with a secret that could alter the fate of the world. For in him lies a spark long thought dead—the last scion of the Imperial line.
To protect him, Kiva must confront not only his own ghosts but the enemies gathering to crush the boy’s claim. In a land drowning in war, can a disgraced soldier help restore an Empire—or will his redemption cost him everything?
