She Persisted is a series of books by multiple authors that covers inspirational women who never took no for an answer and always persisted. The original book, She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World was written by Chelsea Clinton with Alexandra Boiger on board as an illustrator. The series has continued to focus on individual women and women in their own fields of accomplishment.

The book series begins with She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World and then continues with She Persisted Around the World: 13 Women Who Changed History and She Persisted in Sports: American Olympians Who Changed the Game. After that, the series switched to focus on individual women’s stories in standalone chapter books. The series is for little kids who are future activists and feminists.

If You Like She Persisted Books, You’ll Love…

She Persisted Around the World: 13 Women Who Changed History is the second book in the series. This one continues the theme of finding women who dreamed big and did whatever it took to achieve those dreams. Even when told to be quiet, these women persisted and fought for what’s right and to make a name for themselves. This book features chapters on J.K Rowling, Marie Curie, Viola Desmond, and Kate Sheppard.

One of the individual biography chapter books is She Persisted: Sally Ride written by Atia Abawi. Ride broke barriers by becoming the first American woman (and third overall) to go to space when she made the trip in 1983. That would be enough for most people to earn their place in history, but Ride didn’t stop there. She took her experience after leaving NASA and went on to create science and engineering programs that would help other girls and women make their own dreams come true.
