James Patterson has made yet another generous donation, this time to Michigan State University.

It comes in the form of $60,000 per year in scholarships in the Urban Educators Cohort Program in order to prepare teachers for service in urban areas. The main requirement is that the students choose English or language arts as a minor or major.

While Patterson did not attend MSU, he heard about the College of Education’s urban initiative and decided that he wanted to contribute.

The program is set to start this year. Eight students will be selected in the summer and will each receive $7,500 for the new semester in the fall.
