The popularity of eReaders has been growing non-stop. As of now there are There are 17,784 Kindle users. One of the things Amazon can do through their Kindle eReader is track the passages you highlight as you read.

The #1 most highlighted passage is from Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. The quote is: “Because sometimes things happen to people and they’re not equipped to deal with them.”

Showing The Hunger Games‘ popularity, 20 of the top 25 highlighted passages on the Kindle belong to the Hunger Games series.

Jane Austen may be long gone, but her books are still widely read. Two of her passages are among the most highlighted on the Kindle. One is from Pride and Prejudice, which is: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
