It’s now officially December 1st! I hope everyone enjoyed opening their advent calendars today. Always a fun tradition.

I bought the new Kindle during Black Friday sales. Of course then I gave it to my wife to give it to me for Christmas as we always struggle for gifts. And now I can’t wait till Christmas!! Arrgh.

Although I’m actually travelling for the holidays – always excited about that. An 8 hour flight? Perfect time to relax, ignore the world and read. I always bring my tablet, Nintendo DS, phone, laptop and Kindle with me – everything loaded up with multimedia and I spend the whole time reading.

People asking about archives of the newsletter – we’ll have them listed on the website soon. Just adding authors/series has taken priority at the moment.

Quick note to previous contest winner Barbara – I’ve e-mailed you at all 3 of the e-mail addresses you’ve provided and never heard back. Please check your junk mail.

Each month we give away 2 prizes. 1st prize is a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate, and 2nd prize is a $25 Amazon gift certificate.

To win all you have to do is be a subscriber. Nothing more! When we go to hit “Publish” we take a list of all of our subscribers, throw them into a random draw and those are the winners.

Our $50 gift certificate winner is Kenneth from Cabot, Arkansas and our $25 gift certificate winner is Clyde from Nebraska . Both of you have been e-mailed. If you haven’t received an e-mail check your junk mail folder!

December 2015 Book Of The Month

Usually I reserve this section for a new book coming out – but with all of the “year end book awards” happening etc I felt the Girl on the Train deserved to our book of the month.

It was an absolutely incredible debut by Paula Hawkins – and it’s amazing how out of nowhere she has became such a big name in the literacy world.

At least once a month, I check to see if she has any new book planned.

New Content Added to OrderOfBooks.com

For the people who ask how we decide what new content we add – it’s all about what YOU ask us to add. We get over 30 e-mails per day from people requesting new authors or book series. Our list of authors/series to add is insanely long.

Every time a request comes in we put an “X” beside it or add an additional X to our list. Then we go by the authors/series with the most X’s. So if there’s an author you love that isn’t on our list get them noticed – just reply to his and let us know who you want added and we’ll update our list. I’ll also get a contact form on the site in the next few days so you can request them there.

Here’s what we added in November:

Epic fantasy author Brian Staveley.
Author of the Black Cat Bookshop Mysteries, Ali Brandon.
YA/Urban Fantasy Author Rachel Vincent: Shifters and Soul Screamers series.
The infamous Guillermo del Toro with his Strain Trilogy.
Canadian A.M. Dellamonica.
Abigail Roux and her Cut & Run series.
Harper Freaking Lee!!!!!
Historical fantasy author Jaime Lee Moyer.
Beverly Allen, author of the Bridal Bouquet Shop Mysteries.
The Rising Storm series of novels.
Mystery author Alex Erickson
Childrens fantasy/adventure series Kingdom of Wrenly by Jordan Quinn.
Hannah Denison, author of the Vicky Hill mystery series.
YA Fantasy author Alexandra Bracken and her Darkest Minds series.
Romantic suspense author Julie Ann Walker and her Black Knights Inc. books.
Richard Yancey.
Westmoreland Dynasty books.

Your Thoughts:

We were a bit disappointed with the feedback last month! We were looking for book recommendations and only got a few of them. Usually people love recommending books!

Let’s go with something simpler this month.

What was the best book(or books) you read all year?

Doesn’t have to be a new book that was released this year. Maybe you just discovered a new author or something. Either way – what was the best reading experience you had this year?

E-mail us your feedback(100 words or less) to site@OrderOfBooks.com or just reply to this e-mail, and we’ll pick the best comments and feature it in next months newsletter.

(See the newsletter archives for the feedback we received)
