January 2016 Newsletter
Welcome to 2016! Sorry this newsletter is a little bit late – I was busy traveling and then there was a LOT of feedback to go through from the previous month.
I traveled(from Canada) to Scotland for Christmas. Total travel time alone was about 26 hours. And I loved every minute of it!
Why? Because traveling on a plane or a train or a bus means I’m not driving – and I can sit back and read! I read 3 books during the entire travel time. I was in the mood for mystery books, and I also wanted to try out a couple of new authors. So I read:
Beautiful Lies by Lisa Unger
Panic by Jeff Abbott (6 chapter free trial here)
You’re Next by Gregg Hurwitz
Hilariously I picked all 3 at random, yet all THREE involved adopted children or possibly adopted children and the mystery was all revolving around that. Weird. All three were awesome and if you’re looking for a mystery book to try – I’d recommend picking any of them up.
I also got the new Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas – I’d stuck with the Kindle classic because I didn’t like the touchscreen aspect. However the whole backlight thing really sold me and man was it great – traveling home at 10pm at night on the bus in complete darkness on New Years Eve and being able to read was excellent.

January 2016 Book Of The Month
This month I’m going to use some personal bias – because author Jeff Abbott just released his latest novel in the Sam Capra series, The First Order.
I was in Saint Lucia on vacation last year and decided to give the first one a try. I have to say the Capra series shot to the top of my list along with Mitch Rapp and Jack Reacher and Spider Shepherd. I read every single book so fast I finished them all within 4 days. I’ve never consumed a series that fast – and so I have to give the new book the book of the month.
For more details you can read our entry on Sam Capra, or go direct to the book description.

Your Thoughts:
My god the feedback was AMAZING last month. I love you guys! It was great reading every e-mail and corresponding with many of you.
My new years resolution is to expand my reading to try out more new authors. So with that:
How many new authors did you read in 2015?
By that I mean a new author you had never tried before and for whatever reason or other decided to read their books. Feel free to list them.
My list: Paula Hawkins, Kyle Mills,Andy Weir, Andrew Grant, Gregg Hurwitz, Lisa Unger,
And 2 of those were only at the tail end of the year. So 6 – and one was purely because he was the successor to Vince Flynn. Going to try and do better this year.
E-mail us your feedback(100 words or less) to site@OrderOfBooks.com or just reply to this e-mail, and we’ll pick the best comments and feature it in next months newsletter.
