Bella Mackie Synopses: In How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie, Grace Bernard has killed six members of her father’s wealthy family, some brutally and some with chilling calm, yet she is serving time for a murder she did not commit. No one knows about the intricate revenge she has already carried out, or the careful planning that went into each death. To the outside world she is just another inmate, not the architect of a quiet massacre.

Her vendetta began when she discovered that her absentee millionaire father had ignored her dying mother’s pleas for help. In response, Grace vowed to wipe out his entire family, targeting them one by one with ruthless precision. How to Kill Your Family gives readers a front row seat as she dismantles the Bernard clan, in a story that is darkly funny, viciously observant about class and privilege, and unflinching about what she is willing to do. And all the while, Grace sits in prison for the one killing she did not commit.

What a Way to Go by Bella Mackie is a standalone novel. Anthony Wistern expected far more fuss over his death. After all, he died in spectacular fashion, skewered by an extravagant party decoration in the lake of his Cotswolds estate during his sixtieth birthday celebration. Instead of an afterlife of clarity, he finds himself stuck in a strange purgatory, forced to watch the living world while he tries to work out who killed him so he can finally move on.

Olivia Wistern knows she should at least pretend to mourn her husband, but she cannot bring herself to care. Anthony has left behind a financial, social, and personal disaster that she now has to manage, and their four grown children are far too spoiled to be of any help. The police keep getting in her way, and with so many people who despised Anthony, she cannot understand why they insist on poking around her house.

While the Wistern family focuses on protecting their wealth rather than grieving their patriarch, one ambitious internet sleuth sees opportunity. The murder happened practically on her doorstep, and she has her own history with the victim. She is determined to turn Anthony’s death into a hit true crime podcast and build her future on the chaos he left behind, no matter what it takes.
