Cameron Johnston Synopses: In The Maleficent Seven, Black Herran was once one of the most feared figures in Essoran. A powerful demonologist and ruthless general, she led an army commanded by six notorious captains: a necromancer, a vampire lord, a demigod, an orc warleader, a pirate queen, and an alchemist. Together they conquered much of the continent before Herran abruptly abandoned the campaign on the verge of total victory.
Forty years later, a new threat is sweeping across the land. A fanatical enemy is advancing with the intent of finishing the destruction Herran once began. With few options remaining, she sets out to reunite her former captains for one final mission.
Gathering in the small town of Tarnbrooke, the seven former villains become an unlikely line of defense against a growing catastrophe. Old grudges, dangerous ambitions, and decades of history stand between them and success, but the fate of the continent may depend on whether they can work together one last time.
In The Last Shield, the forest realm of Sunweald exists in the shadow of far more powerful neighbouring nations. At the heart of the kingdom stands Sunweald Palace, home to the ruling family and a collection of valuable magical artefacts protected by the realm’s elite defenders, known as the Shields.
A band of raiders called the Wildwood Reivers has been stealing arcane objects and smuggling them beyond Sunweald’s borders. Their ultimate target appears to be the Wyrm Vault, a hidden repository deep beneath the palace that houses some of the realm’s most important treasures.
As political divisions deepen and druids prepare for the Summer Solstice ceremonies, the threat against Sunweald grows. Briar, commander of the Shields, is charged with protecting the palace, its rulers, and the secrets hidden within its ancient tunnels and corridors. Facing enemies both outside and within the realm, she must hold the line against a conspiracy that could bring Sunweald to ruin.
In First Mage on the Moon, Ella Pickering is a former skymage whose life changed after a crash left her using a wheelchair. Once responsible for aerial supply missions during the war with the Ranneas Empire, she now struggles under mounting debt while working long shifts crafting magical weapons for the Unity war effort.
Everything changes when she witnesses a failed experiment conducted by engineer Jackan Grissom. His device unexpectedly launches skyward like a crude rocket before crashing into the spell-scarred wasteland between the warring nations. The accident sparks an unlikely idea: if such a machine can be improved, perhaps it could reach the moon itself, the forbidden home of the gods. And if they can reach the gods, perhaps they can persuade them to end the war.
As Ella and Jackan pursue their ambitious plan, they gather allies and resources while trying to keep their work hidden. In a world where challenging accepted beliefs can be as dangerous as the war itself, every step brings new risks. What begins as an impossible dream soon becomes a race to determine whether magic and ingenuity can achieve the unthinkable, or whether their efforts will be condemned as heresy before they ever leave the ground.
