Witch Is When It All Began is the first book in the Witch P.I. Mystery series. The book follows a private investigator named Jill Gooder who has been hired to find a serial killer. Jill is following in the family business as her father was also a P.I. She is hired to do this because the police are incompetent and it’s up to her to find them before they strike again. Jill is the owner of a crazy, one-eyed cat and also has a secretary who spends more time knitting than doing her job. If all of that and the case isn’t even on her plate, Jill is also about to discover that she is a witch.
Abbott is also the author of the Susan Hall series of books that starts off with Whoops! Our New Flatmate Is A Human. The story follows a shy werewolf, a wizard who fancies himself as a ladies’ man, and a vampire dying for a taste of human blood who are saddled with a human named Susan to be their new flatmate. That situation leads to a lot of drama, but there is also a murder that needs to be solved. Susan is an investigative reporter and she is on the case.
