Order of Andrew Taylor Books
Andrew Taylor is an author of British crime and historical fiction. He is best known for his James Marwood & Cat Lovett series of books. Taylor is a former winner of the Cartier Diamond Dagger Award for lifelong excellence in the genre. He also had his book, The Anatomy of Ghosts shortlisted for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.
Taylor’s Roth trilogy of books was adapted for television as Fallen Angel. Andrew lives on the border of Engalnd and Wales. In addition to his work as an author, he is also the Spectator’s crime fiction reviewer.

The Ashes of London is the first book in the James Marwood & Cat Lovett series. The book takes place in 1966 in London as the Great Fire rages through the city. James Marwood is a survivor of the fire and he is soon sent to investigate the murder of a body found in the ashes of St. Paul’s cathedral. The body has a stab wound in the neck and the thumbs are tied behind the back. As Marwood investigates he soon comes upon a second dead body and not long after that, a determined young woman out for revenge.
Tyalor is also the author of The Silent Boy. This book is set in Paris in 1792 during the French Revolution. The story begins when Edward Savill is working in London for a wealthy American when he gets word that his wife has been killed in France. She leaves behind the ten-year-old Charles who makes his way to England and Charnwood Court, a house leased by emigre refugees. Savill heads to Charnwood to retrieve him and when he arrives he discovers that Charles is mute, having witnessed horrors beyond his years. The boy harbors a terrible secret that Savill will seek to free from him.
