Bill Granger was an American novelist who wrote thrillers. He was best known for writing books like Public Murders, The November Man, and The Shattered Eye.

In addition to his work as an author, Granger worked as a reporter with the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times. Granger was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, but spent the majority of his life in Chicago, Illinois. He attended college at DePaul University where he got his first start in newspapers as the editor of The Depaulia. After graduation, served in the United States Army before finding work as a reporter.

Public Murders takes place in a hot Chicago summer. The heat is so unbearable that it drove most everyone from the streets. Granger’s most famous book is The November Man which became a movie starring Pierce Brosnan. The story follows The November Man, a member of R Section – a watchdog organization designed to keep the CIA in check, as he’s looking to put that life behind him. Then he gets a message from his former handle who needs to reactivate him to save his own life and R Section. A KGB agent has been sent to kill him and he has no idea. His former handler is a pawn in a grand game with The November Man being the only one who can help.
