It Had to Be the Duke by Christi Caldwell is a prequel to Along Came a Lady. Lady Lydia, who had been recently widowed, still holds a place in her heart for her first love, Geoffrey, the Duke of Bentley. However, when they meet again after many years, Geoffrey is no longer the charming young man she remembers. His indulgent and dissolute lifestyle has left him hollow and lost. Despite this, when he finds himself in need of a true friend, Geoffrey turns to Lydia.
Geoffrey realizes that he has never stopped loving Lydia and hopes to rekindle their romance. But will Lydia be able to look past his past mistakes and trust him again? Or will the wounds of the past keep them apart forever? The question remains whether the duke can convince Lydia to give their love another chance, or if it is too late to mend their shattered relationship.
Along Came a Lady by Christi Caldwell is the second book in the All the Duke’s Sins series. Lady Lydia, recently widowed, still harbors a flame for her first love, Geoffrey, the Duke of Bentley. But when they reunite after many years, she finds that Geoffrey has changed. His wild and reckless ways have left him empty and searching for something more meaningful. Despite this, Geoffrey turns to Lydia for comfort and support.
As they spend time together, Geoffrey realizes that he still loves Lydia and wants to rekindle their romance. But Lydia is wary. Can she forgive Geoffrey for his past mistakes and trust him with her heart again? Or will their family obligations and past wounds keep them apart forever? Only time will tell if the Duke can convince Lydia to give their love another chance, or if their chance encounter is merely a fleeting moment in their lives.
In Need of a Knight is the first book in Christi Caldwell’s The Heart of a Duke series. Lady Aldora Adamson and her friends were once gifted a heart pendant by a gypsy woman, promising them each the heart of a duke. However, years later, Lady Aldora has little time for such fanciful tales as her family faces ruin and scandal. Desperate to save her younger siblings, she has resolved to marry a wealthy, titled gentleman with a respectable name. She sets her sights on the Marquess of St. James, a man with power, influence, and the means to help her family.
But fate has other plans. Lord Michael Knightly, a self-made man who was disowned by his father after a tragic scandal, enters Aldora’s life. Shunned by society, Michael prefers to stay away from London’s elite circles. When Aldora mistakes him for his brother, the Marquess of St. James, Michael is intrigued. As they get to know each other, their connection deepens, and Aldora’s feelings for Michael grow.
Now, Aldora must choose between her duty as a sister and her love for Michael. Will she follow her heart, even if it means turning her back on her family’s expectations and risking their disapproval? Or will she sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her siblings? The decision is hers, and it may change the course of her life forever.
