Order of J.S. Morin Books
J.S. Morin is an American science fiction and fantasy author who is best known for writing the wide-ranging Black Ocean series that spans the Mercy for Hire, Astral Prime, and Galaxy Outlaws sub-series. He is also the author of the Project Transhuman series and the Twinborn Chronicles.
Morin had a love of fantasy and science fiction from a young age as he read authors like Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, and Isaac Asimov. He was also an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons that allowed him a creative outlet. Morin became a Mechanical Engineer after college, but maintained his love for writing and eventually published his first novel.

Salvage Trouble: Mission 1 is the start of the Black Ocean series. Carl Ramsey is an opportunistic starship captain who has a crew of misfits that could be a well-oiled machine if they ever got their stuff together, but that would be shocking to Carl if that ever happened. The crew does jobs as they come and they’ve just come across a wreck that they can salvage from. However, what they find on the ship is an unlaunched escape pod that contains two survivors. The survivors are wanted and soon they are being pursued by people who want to take them away, but Captain Carl isn’t going to let them go.
Morin is also the author of the Project Transhuman. The book follows Charlie7 who is the progenitor of a mechanical race he built from the ashes of Earth. He’s living a life of leisure now in his retirement, but that all changes when he’s given a human girl name Eve. The girl is brilliant, but clueless to her species’ history. Her creator wants her back and has devious plans for her, – and it’s up to Charlie7 to protect her and the human race.
