Julie Anne Lindsey is an American author best known for writing mystery novels and young adult fiction. She is the author of the Cider Shop Mysteries series, the Fortress Defense series, and the Calypso series.
Lindsey was born in Ohion and grew up with a strong passion for reading and writing from a young age. She writes many series as herself, but also writes under pen names as well. She is married with three kids, and the family lives in Ohio. She is a member of the International Thriller Writers, Sisters in Crime and Romance Writers of America.

The book introduces us to single mother Violet Ames who is trying to figure out why her grandmother hired a former Army Ranger named Wyatt Stone to be her bodyguard. Her grandmother then had a suspicious accident and now she is trying to figuring out why. She decides to work together with Wyatt to find out, but she has trouble trusting him. As the two get deeper into their investigation, they discover a dark town secret and there is a killer who is determined to take out Violet. The two are in a race against time and Violet finds it’s not always obvious who she can trust.
Apple Cider Slaying is the first book in the Cider Shop Mystery series. The book takes place in Blossom Valley, Virginia where Winnie helps her Granny Smythe to run the family business, Smythe Orchards. The orchard is struggling though and they are trying to bring in new business with the First Annual Christmas at the Orchard holiday festival. The whole event goes sour when Nadine Cooper, Granny’s long-time, grudge-holding nemesis, is found dead in the apple press. Granny is the number one suspect and Winnie will have to work hard to prove her innocence.
