If You Like Paula Munier Books, You’ll Love…
A Borrowing of Bones is the first book in the Mercy Carr Mystery series. Mercy Carr and bomb-sniffing dog Elvis are sent home from the war after the death of Mercy’s fiancé. The dog was her fiancé’s partner and she is honoring his last wishes to take care of him. Now, the two are marching off their grief in the Vermont wilderness. The two are out walking on the Fourth of July when Elvis is alerted to explosives and finds a baby abandoned near a shallow grave with bones in it. The two will team up with U.S. Game Warden Troy Warner and his search and rescue Newfoundland Susie Bear to track down the missing mother and solve a cold-case murder.
Another good book in the series is The Hiding Place. The story sees Mercy and Elvis called to the side of her late grandfather’s dying deputy. The man’s dying wish is for her to investigate a cold case that has long haunted him. The two will try to find a woman who has been missing for twenty years. Making matters worse, a man has showed up claiming ownership of Elvis and her grandmother has gone missing. She calls on Vermont Game Warden Troy Warner to help.
