Richard North Patterson is an American novelist of legal thrillers. Before he was an author, Patterson practiced law until he retired to become a full-time writer in 1993. By that time, he had already written several novels. He has three different series (Christopher Paget, Tony Lord and Kerry Kilcannon) but he tends to focus more on standalone novels.

Richard North Patterson started writing in 1979 with The Lasko Tangent and would publish one novel every two years until he retired from law in 1993. Below is a list of Richard North Patterson’s novels in publication order and chronological order:
