Susan Hunter is an American author and former journalist. She is best known in the writing world as the author of the popular Leah Nash Mysteries series.

During her time as a journalist, Hunter earned a first place recognition for investigative reporting and enterprise/feature reporting. In addition to her earlier career as an award-winning journalist, Hunter also worked teaching composition at the university level. She also has everything to advertising copy to memos to speeches. Writing is in her blood and it really shows in her work in these novels. She lives in rural Michigan with her husband Gary.

Dangerous Habits is the first book int he Leah Nash Mysteries series. The book follows journalist Leah Nash as she receives a cryptic message from a drowned nun. This note opens up a lot of questions and she reopens the investigation of her teenage sister’s death. The connection to the two deaths leads her down a very dangerous path and helps to uncover a shocking scandal that could end up costing Leah her life. A fast-paced murder mystery with strong female characters, this book gets the series started off on the right track.

The book sees one of Nash’s fellow reporters drawn into a blackmail scandal involved with a website that matches sugar daddies to college-aged girls. The website’s owner is found dead in the reporter’s home with his uncle being arrested in connection with the killing. Miguel, the reporter, brings in Leah Nash to help clear his name. What she finds is a dangerous web of links to local residents that have no obvious pattern to them. When another murder takes place, Nash will need to work overtime before the body count rises.
