Sherlock Holmes is a legendary fictional character created by Scottish author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is well-known for solving even the most impossible mysteries and is a master of disguise. Some of Holmes’ characteristics include having cat-like personal hygiene, use of cocaine and smokes a pipe.
Sherlock Holmes first appeared in 1887 and was featured in four novels and 56 short stories (canonically). The books are usually narrated by Watson, but two of them are narrated by Holmes and the other two are written in the third person. The Sherlock Holmes character has appeared in every medium imaginable, from TV series to video games to stageplays and of course movies such as the ones starring Robert Downey, Jr.
